Raymond Hitchcock (1865–1929) was an American stage and silent film actor, producer, and comedian known for his contributions to Broadway and early cinema. His four-decade career earned him a reputation for wit and comedic timing.

Born in Auburn, New York, he débuted on Broadway in The Yankee Consul (1903) as Abijah Booze. He later starred in and produced successful musical comedies, including Hitchy-Koo (1917–20,) a revue featuring Cole Porter’s music in its 1919 edition. His stage work alternated between dramatic roles and comic opera, showcasing his versatility.

Hitchcock also appeared in silent films, including The Ringtailed Rhinoceros (1915,) My Valet (1915,) The Red Widow (1916,) Redheads Preferred (1926,) and Upstream (1927,) directed by John Ford. His ability to transition between stage and screen made him a key figure in early American entertainment.
