Philander Chase Johnson (1866–1939) was an American journalist, humorist, poet, lyricist, and dramatic editor known for his witty political satire and literary contributions. His work spanned journalism, poetry, and theater, making him a key figure in early 20th-century American literature.

Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, he was an editorial writer for The Washington Post before joining the Washington Evening Star, where he remained for 47 years. His sharp commentary on politics and society earned him widespread recognition.
