Peter Brimelow (b.1947) is a British-American financial journalist, author, and political commentator known for writings on immigration, economics, and conservative politics. His work has sparked controversy, particularly regarding immigration policy.
Born in Warrington, England, he studied at the University of Sussex (B.A., 1970) and earned an MBA from Stanford University (1972.) He began his career as a financial journalist, working for Barron’s, Fortune, and Forbes, where he was a senior editor. In 1999, he founded VDARE, a website focused on immigration and national identity, widely criticized for its association with white nationalism.
Brimelow’s notable books include The Wall Street Gurus (1986,) analyzing investment strategies; The Patriot Game (1986,) on Canadian nationalism; Alien Nation: Common Sense About America’s Immigration Disaster (1995,) critiquing U.S. immigration policies; and The Worm in the Apple (2003,) examining teacher unions and education reform.
