Michael Armstrong (b.1944) is an English filmmaker, screenwriter, and director known for his contributions to horror and cult cinema. His works blend psychological tension, dark humor, and provocative themes, earning him a reputation as a bold storyteller.

Born in Bolton, Lancashire, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA.) At 22, he wrote and directed the award-winning short film The Image (1969,) starring David Bowie.
