Lysa TerKeurst (b.1969,) née Adams, is an American author, speaker, and president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, known for her Christian non-fiction books on faith, relationships, and personal growth.
Born in Tallahassee, Florida, TerKeurst studied at Furman University in South Carolina. She entered Christian ministry in the 1990s, helping expand Proverbs 31 Ministries, which reaches millions with biblical teachings. Her first book, Living Life on Purpose: Discovering God’s Best for Your Life (2000,) launched her writing career. She gained recognition with The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands (2014,) which spent six weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
Other bestsellers include Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely (2016,) It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way (2018,) and Forgiving What You Can’t Forget (2020,) exploring resilience, healing, and faith-based decision-making. TerKeurst also wrote for children, including Win or Lose, I Love You! (2015.) Her work is praised for its relatable storytelling and biblical insights.
