Inspirational Quotes by Lenora Mattingly Weber (American Juvenile Novelist)

Lenora Mattingly Weber (1895–1971) was an American author best known for her young adult fiction, particularly the Beany Malone series, which depicted mid-20th-century teenage life.

Born in Dawn, Missouri, she moved to Colorado as a child, developing a love for horses, family life, and storytelling. She married Albert Herman Weber in 1916 and raised six children, experiences that shaped her writing.

Her first novel, Wind on the Prairie (1929,) published by Little, Brown & Co., marked the start of her career. She wrote short stories for The Saturday Evening Post, McCall’s, and Good Housekeeping (1930–62.) In 1943, she published Meet the Malones, the first book in the Beany Malone series, which became her most famous work. The series includes Beany Malone (1948,) Leave It to Beany! (1950,) and Beany and the Beckoning Road (1952.)

Weber also wrote the Katie Rose Belford series, beginning with Don’t Call Me Katie Rose (1964,) and standalone novels like Happy Landing (1941) and Sing for Your Supper (1941.) Her final book was The Beany Malone Cookbook (1972.)
