Ken Blanchard (b.1939,) fully Kenneth Hartley Blanchard, is an American author, speaker, and management expert known for his influential work in leadership and organizational behavior. His philosophy centers on servant leadership, personal growth, and fostering a positive culture, impacting business leaders, educators, and individuals pursuing personal and professional development.

Born in Orange, New Jersey, Blanchard earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a master’s and PhD in education from Colgate University in 1963. His academic background laid the foundation for his career in management consulting and leadership development.

Blanchard rose to prominence with The One Minute Manager (1982,) co-authored with Spencer Johnson. This groundbreaking book introduced a simple management approach focused on clear goals, swift feedback, and positive reinforcement. An international bestseller, it is regarded as one of the most influential business books of the 20th century, with concepts such as “one-minute goals” and “one-minute praisings” widely adopted worldwide.
