Katha Pollitt (b.1949) is an American poet, essayist, and columnist known for her insightful commentary on feminism, politics, and social issues. She gained prominence for her sharp wit and incisive analysis in addressing contemporary issues through her writing.

Born in Brooklyn Heights, New York, she earned a B.A. in philosophy from Radcliffe College in 1972 and an M.F.A. in writing from Columbia in 1975.
