Inspirational Quotes by Joan Lunden (American Journalist)

Joan Lunden (b.1950,) originally Joan Elise Blunden, is an American journalist, television host, and author best known for her 17-year tenure as co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America (1980–97.) She has written over ten books on health, parenting, and personal growth.

Born in Fair Oaks, California, she earned a Liberal Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento, later studying Spanish and anthropology in Mexico City. She began her broadcasting career at KCRA-TV in Sacramento (1973) before joining WABC-TV in New York (1975.) In 1980, she became co-host of Good Morning America, covering five Olympic Games, four U.S. presidents, and two royal weddings. A health advocate, she shared her breast cancer journey and served as a special correspondent for NBC’s Today (2014.) In 2021, she began hosting PBS’s Second Opinion.

Her books include Wake-Up Calls (2000,) A Bend in the Road Is Not the End of the Road (1998,) Growing Up Healthy (2004,) Had I Known: A Memoir of Survival (2015,) and Why Did I Come into This Room? (2020,) exploring aging and personal reflection.
