Inspirational Quotes by Jim Wallis (American Christian Writer)

Jim Wallis (b.1948,) fully James E. Wallis Jr., is an American Christian writer and social activist. He also founded Call to Renewal, a religious ecumenical organization committed to overcoming poverty and racism. Wallis’s works examine the interaction of religion and politics, and he is often viewed as the voice of the religious left.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Wallis attended Michigan State University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois. At Trinity, he joined other young seminarians to establish the community that eventually became Sojourners. This progressive Christian organization seeks to promote social justice and peace.

Wallis has written several books on the intersection of faith and politics, including Faith Works (2000,) God’s Politics (2005,) and The Great Awakening (2008.) Wallis is also a regular commentator on issues related to religion and politics, appearing on networks such as CNN and MSNBC. Wallis has an outspoken advocate for issues such as poverty reduction, environmental justice, and immigration reform.
