Jean-Claude Juncker (b.1954) is a Luxembourgish politician known for his tenure as Prime Minister of Luxembourg (1995–2013) and President of the European Commission (2014–19.) His leadership shaped European economic policy, particularly during the Eurozone crisis.
Born in Redange, Luxembourg, Juncker studied law at the University of Strasbourg, graduating in 1979. He joined the Christian Social People’s Party in 1974 and later served as Minister of Finance (1989–2009) and President of the Eurogroup (2005–13,) playing a key role in financial stability.
