Inspirational Quotes by James E. Faust (American Mormon Religious Leader)

James Esdras Faust (1920–2007) was an American religious leader, lawyer, and politician who served as Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) 1995–2007. His leadership influenced generations of Latter-day Saints.

Born in Delta, Utah, Faust attended Granite High School in Salt Lake City, excelling in track and football. He later studied at the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor (1948.) His education was interrupted for a missionary assignment in Brazil (1939–42) and military service in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Practicing law in Salt Lake City, he served as Utah Bar Association president (1962) and advised on civil rights under President John F. Kennedy. In 1972, he was called as an Assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, later serving in the First Quorum of the Seventy (1976–78) and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles (1978–95.)

His writings include To Reach Even Unto You (1980,) Finding Light in a Dark World (1995,) and In the Strength of the Lord (1999,) reflecting his teachings on faith, service, and perseverance.
