Dwan Jacobsen Young (b.1931) is an American church leader. She served as the seventh general president of the Primary organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) 1980–88.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, she graduated from the University of Utah. Dwan joined the Primary general board in 1970 and served as the general president for nearly two decades, during which she played a key role in transforming the organization’s structure within the church. The Seventh General Primary in the LDS Church refers to a specific age group within the Primary organization, which is for children ages 7 to 8. This group is often involved in learning about the gospel, participating in activities, and preparing for baptism. The Primary emphasizes faith, service, and understanding of core beliefs.
