David Edwin Ambrose (b.1943) is a British novelist, playwright, and screenwriter known for thrillers, science fiction, and psychological suspense. His career spans film, television, and literature, making him a versatile storyteller.

Born in Chorley, England, Ambrose studied law at Merton College-Oxford, but soon transitioned to writing. His early career included journalism for The Observer and scriptwriting for film and television, collaborating with Orson Welles.
