Inspirational Quotes by Daniel Schorr (American Journalist)

Daniel Louis Schorr (1916–2010) was an American journalist and broadcaster known for investigative reporting and political analysis. His 60-year career covered major global events and shaped public discourse at CBS News, CNN, and NPR.

Born in New York City, Schorr began his journalism career at The Jewish Daily Bulletin before serving in Army Intelligence during World War II. He joined CBS News (1953) as one of Edward R. Murrow’s recruits, becoming the network’s first Moscow bureau correspondent (1955.) He later covered Watergate, earning three Emmy Awards.

His investigative work clashed with the Nixon administration, landing him on Nixon’s “Enemies List.” After leaving CBS (1976,) he helped launch CNN (1980) before serving as Senior News Analyst at NPR (1985–2010.)

His notable books include Clearing the Air (1977,) detailing his controversial CBS departure, and Staying Tuned: A Life in Journalism (2001,) a memoir on his career and journalistic ethics.
