Dana White (b.1969,) fully Dana Frederick White Jr., is an American businessman and sports executive, best known as CEO and president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC.) Under his leadership, the UFC grew from a struggling organization into a multi-billion-dollar global phenomenon, making mixed martial arts (MMA) one of the world’s most popular sports.
Born in Manchester, Connecticut, White developed an early interest in combat sports, training in boxing and jiu-jitsu. After working as a boxercise coach, he moved to Las Vegas, reconnecting with Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta. In 2001, the Fertitta brothers bought the UFC for $2 million, appointing White as president. He played a crucial role in securing television deals, expanding international events, and legitimizing MMA as a mainstream sport.
Beyond the UFC, White founded Power Slap (2022,) a slap-fighting promotion, and was elected to Meta’s board of directors (2025.)
