Colleen Patrick-Goudreau (b.1970) is an American author, speaker, and advocate for compassionate living and veganism. Through her books, podcasts, and lectures, she has helped mainstream plant-based eating while promoting animal welfare.
Born in Westfield, New Jersey, Patrick-Goudreau studied English and French literature before dedicating her career to vegan education. She founded the Food for Thought podcast (2005,) a leading resource on plant-based living. She is also a TEDx speaker, NPR contributor, and host of sustainable vegan travel experiences.
Her first book, The Joy of Vegan Baking (2007, revised 2017,) introduced cruelty-free desserts. She followed with The Vegan Table (2009,) offering recipes for entertaining, and Color Me Vegan (2010,) highlighting the nutritional benefits of plant-based foods. Other notable works include Vegan’s Daily Companion (2011,) The 30-Day Vegan Challenge (2017,) and The Joyful Vegan (2020,) which explores sustaining a vegan lifestyle in a non-vegan world.
