Inspirational Quotes by Christina Hoff Sommers (American Philosopher)

Christina Hoff Sommers (b.1950) is an American author, philosopher, and scholar known for critiquing contemporary feminism and advocating equity feminism. She specializes in ethics, gender politics, and free speech in academia. A resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, she hosts The Factual Feminist, a video blog on gender issues.

Born in Sonoma County, California, Sommers earned a B.A. from New York University (1971) and a PhD in philosophy from Brandeis University (1979.) She later taught philosophy at Clark University, focusing on moral theory. She edited Vice and Virtue in Everyday Life (1985,) a widely used college ethics textbook, now in its ninth edition.

Sommers is best known for Who Stole Feminism? (1994,) critiquing gender feminism, and The War Against Boys (2000,) examining educational disparities affecting boys. She co-authored One Nation Under Therapy (2005) with Sally Satel, analyzing therapeutic culture in America. Her book Freedom Feminism: Its Surprising History and Why It Matters Today (2013) explores historical perspectives on feminism.
