Inspirational Quotes by Chet Huntley (American Broadcaster)

Chet Huntley (1911–74,) fully Chester Robert Huntley, was an American television newscaster best known for co-anchoring NBC’s The Huntley–Brinkley Report for 14 years starting in 1956.

Born in Cardwell, Montana, Huntley was the eldest of four children. His father, a telegraph operator for the Northern Pacific Railway, led the family to move frequently. He graduated from Whitehall High School and attended Montana State College in Bozeman before transferring to the University of Washington, earning a degree in speech and drama (1934.)

Huntley began his radio career in 1934 at KIRO-AM in Seattle, later working at stations in Spokane and Portland. He joined CBS Radio (1939,) moved to ABC Radio (1951,) and finally NBC (1955.) In 1956, NBC paired him with David Brinkley to cover the national political conventions, launching The Huntley–Brinkley Report, which aired until 1970.
