Inspirational Quotes by Bobby Unser (American Sportsperson)

Bobby Unser (1934–2021,) fully Robert William Unser, was an American automobile racing driver. He won the Indianapolis 500 three times (1968, 1975, 1981) and was the United States Auto Club (USAC) National Champion 1968, 1974.

Born into a family of drivers in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Unser first raced in 1949 and competed in the Indianapolis 500 race in 1963. The first of his thirteen Pikes Peak Hill Climb victories was in 1956.

Unser won two United States Automobile Club (USAC) races in 1967 before winning his first Indianapolis 500 in 1968. In 1982, he retired as a driver and worked as a television broadcaster for 20 years. He was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1990.

Unser’s younger brother Al won the Indy 500 four times—1970, 1971, 1978, and 1987. Al’s son, Al Unser Jr., won the Indy 500 in 1992 and 1994.
