Arthur Dehon Little (1863–1935) was an American chemist, engineer, and entrepreneur who established the management consulting firm Arthur D. Little, Inc. He was the uncle of the business magnate Royal Little, founder of the multinational conglomerate Textron Inc.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Little pursued his studies in chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT.) After that, he assumed the role of a professor of industrial chemistry at MIT. In 1886, he embarked on his journey as a consultant, focusing on delivering scientific and technical expertise to various industries. Little’s consulting firm played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of management consulting by introducing innovative problem-solving techniques and strategic planning methodologies.
