Andrew Lack (b.1947) is an American media executive known for leading NBC News, CBS, Bloomberg Media, and Sony Music. His career spans broadcast journalism, corporate media strategy, and digital transformation.
Born in New York City, Lack studied at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, graduating in 1968. He began in documentary filmmaking before transitioning to network television.
He joined CBS News in 1976, producing award-winning programs such as 60 Minutes and CBS Reports. In 1993, he became NBC News president, expanding Dateline NBC and launching sMSNBC (1996.) He later served as Bloomberg Media CEO (2008–14) before returning to NBC News as chairman (2015–20.)
