Inspirational Quotes by Albert Benjamin Simpson (Canadian Theologian)

Albert Benjamin Simpson (1843–1919) was a Christian pastor, theologian, and founder of The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA,) a major evangelical denomination. His ministry emphasized deep spirituality, missionary outreach, and the theological principles of divine healing and sanctification, significantly influencing early Pentecostalism.

Born in Bay View, Prince Edward Island, Simpson studied at the University of New Brunswick and later attended the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Toronto. Initially a Presbyterian minister, he became disillusioned with denominational restrictions, particularly regarding church engagement and the experience of divine healing.

In 1887, he founded the Christian and Missionary Alliance to merge evangelical outreach with holiness and healing teachings. His commitment to global missions led him to promote evangelism and social justice, especially in Africa and Asia. His most notable works include The Gospel of Healing (1904,) which advocated divine healing, and The Divine Embrace (1916,) which explored Christ’s transformative power. Simpson also composed hymns such as “Jesus Only,” underscoring the centrality of Christ in Christian life.
