Inspirational Quotes by Aaron Latham (American Journalist)

Aaron Latham (1943–2022) was an American screenwriter, journalist, and author. His story in Texas Monthly inspired the American romantic Western film Urban Cowboy (1980.)

Born in Spur, Texas, Latham attended Amherst College, where he studied literature, graduated in 1966, and edited the college newspaper Amherst Student. He is best known for his work as a contributing editor at Rolling Stone magazine and his writing on country music and the entertainment industry.

Latham authored several books, including Crazy Sundays: F. Scott Fitzgerald in Hollywood (1971,) which chronicles Fitzgerald’s time in Hollywood during the 1930s, and Urban Cowboy: The Rise and Fall of Gilley’s (1980,) which inspired the movie Urban Cowboy (1980.) Additionally, Latham has worked as a screenwriter, contributing to the screenplay for the film Perfect (1993) starring John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis.
