Inspirational Quotes by A. Whitney Brown (American Comedian)

Alan Whitney Brown (b.1952) is an American comedian, writer, and actor known for his sharp political satire on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and The Daily Show. His observational humor made him a defining comedic voice in the 1980s and 1990s.

Born in Charlotte, Michigan, Brown attended Western Michigan University but did not graduate. A rebellious youth, he spent time in reform school before discovering his talent for street performance and juggling, which led to stand-up comedy. He competed in the San Francisco Comedy Competition (1977) and later appeared on Late Night with David Letterman (1983) and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1986.)

Brown joined SNL in 1985 as a writer and performer, best known for The Big Picture, his satirical segment on current events. He won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program (1989) alongside Al Franken, Tom Davis, and Conan O’Brien. In 1996, he became one of The Daily Show’s original correspondents, bringing his signature wit to political satire. He later worked briefly for Air America Radio (2004.)
