Inspirational Quotes by Victor Borge (Danish-American Comedian, Musician)

Victor Borge (1909–2000,) originally Børge Rosenbaum, was a Danish-born American pianist and satirical comedian. He was celebrated for dealing amusingly with music quirks and oddities, especially while playing classical music.

Born in Copenhagen into a family of musicians, Borge was a child prodigy. He won a full scholarship to the Royal Danish Academy of Music at the age of nine, débuted professionally by the age of 13, and made his début as a comedian at 23. He achieved distinction for his satirical revues, in which he began combining classical music and jokes.

Immigrating to America, Borge began to appear regularly on Bing Crosby’s Kraft Music Hall radio series in 1940. Borge was soon given his own radio show with NBC. He gained celebrity for his irrepressible humor, which combined slapstick comedy routines, deadpan delivery, clever wordplay, satire, irreverence, and physical comedy on top of the music. His one-person show, Comedy in Music, started an 849-performance run on Broadway in 1953.

Borge wrote two books, My Favorite Intermissions (1971) and My Favorite Comedies in Music (1980,) and appeared in numerous films and television specials.
