Issue 29
- Let us not look back
in anger or forward in fear,
but around in awareness.
- Life is a grindstone.
But whether it grinds us down or polishes us up depends on us.
- Not to know is bad,
not to wish to know is worse.
- Live in such a way that you would not be ashamed
to sell your parrot to the town gossip.
- To look around is to be distressed;
to look within is to be depressed;
to look up is to be blessed.
- If you just set out to be liked,
you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time,
and you would achieve nothing.
- Excuses are the nails used to build a house of failure.
- The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention.
- Waste no more time arguing about
what a good man should be. Be one.
- A man should never be ashamed to
own that he has been in the wrong,
which is but saying...that he is wiser today than yesterday.
